  • Original Item: Only One Available. In the U.S. military, a "flag officer" is any officer of high enough rank to fly a flag from the location of their command. In the U.S. Army, this applies to Officers of the Brigadier General (1 Star) rank and higher. Flags such as these were often attached to the outside of tents or other locations outside, while a more ornate fringed version would be used inside.

This flag has one star, for a Brigadier General rank officer, and measures approximately 66" x 52". It is made of a 2 piece nylon material dyed red with a white star stitched in the middle. It has a gold fabric fringe going around three sides, and has a runner sleeve on the hoist side of the flag. There is a label still on the flag, ANNIN & CO.N.Y. / FLAG MAKERS.

Condition is good considering the age. The colors are still bright, and the flag does show signs of wear from service. There are some holes on the bottom as well as some staining to the flag.

A very nice example, ready to display!
