Original Item: Only One Available. The term 'United Nations' was first used in an official declaration signed on January 1st, 1942, in which twenty six countries fighting the Axis Powers pledged to give their maximum support to the war effort and abstain from making any separate peace with the enemy. Later known as “The Declaration of the United Nations,” this important document laid the foundation for the conference that would permanently establish the organization.
This poster was meant to show the Allied Forces as a united front in the war. Flags of the member nations of the United Nations wave amidst smoke of a bombardment, with military airplanes, ships and tanks in background. This is the United Nations which was the wartime name for the Allied nations, which would become the postwar United Nations.
The poster has folding marks, some of which have turned into tears along the edges. There is a small section missing in the top left corner, and near the bottom left corner, with a tear in the middle bottom. The poster measures 20 x 28” and is in good framable condition overall.
