  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine WWII Type U.S. Browning M2HB .50cal Display Non-Firing Display Heavy Machine Gun, complete with an original Early pattern M3 tripod! It even has an original Korean War issue T&E and replica pintle for the full setup!

This fantastic example is built on a BATF compliant inert display receiver, made with two inert new made steel replica dummy side plates custom fabricated from sheet steel, which look to have been attached to an original bottom plate, barrel trunion, rear top cover, and spade grip. Some original parts were mounted onto the outside of receiver to create this lovely display machine gun, resulting in a Ma-Deuce that is totally legal to own without a license of any kind. There are no original internal components of any kind inside the display receiver, and the front top cover looks to be a machined replica.

All of the other parts are USGI issue, though we do no know from what era, as components except for the receiver plates have been available on the market for decades due to the long service life of the weapon system. The barrel on this display gun is 100% original, however the chamber definitely looks to have been deactivated and adapted so that it would screw into a fitting on the interior of the dummy receiver. The top cover still opens, the trigger still moves, and the sights do as well. With no internals it is significantly lighter, but still looks the part! It's really in great shape!

This "Ma Deuce" comes complete with an original early pattern USGI M3 Tripod, is the seldom found early model with brass ring dial, so we believe it was originally produced for WWII or Korea. The M3 Tripod is still in use, and the M2 Browning Machine gun is in use around the world, so finding tripods such as this is definitely not an easy task! The tripod does not have a data plate on the central hub, but there are markings stamped directly into the steel:

    MOUNT TRIPOD
    MG. CAL. 50. M3
    U.S.

    MFG. CODE 97001

Various stamps, both stamped and raised, appear on various parts of the locations. Features brass cuff for pintle and fully functional legs, cross bar and welded feet. It is complete, functional and in excellent condition. It definitely looks like it has been stripped and refinished, possibly several times, and presently it seems to have a finish that looks to be parkerized. The included original M2 .50cal Traverse & Elevation (T&E) control is Korean war era, and fully functional, and the replica pintle works great as well.

A fantastic opportunity to own a BATF compliant inert display gun of one of the most enduring machine gun designs in history! Ready to display!

The M2 machine gun or Browning .50 caliber machine gun (informally, "Ma Deuce") is a heavy machine gun that was designed towards the end of World War I by John Browning. Its design is similar to Browning's earlier M1919 Browning machine gun, which was chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. The M2 uses Browning's larger and more powerful .50 BMG (12.7 mm) cartridge. The design has had many designations; the official U.S. military designation for the current infantry type is Browning Machine Gun, Cal. .50, M2, HB, Flexible. It is effective against infantry, unarmored or lightly armored vehicles and boats, light fortifications, and low-flying aircraft.

The gun has been used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the United States since the 1930s. It was heavily used during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, the Soviet–Afghan War, the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and the War in Afghanistan. It is the primary heavy machine gun of NATO countries and has been used by many other countries as well. U.S. forces have used the M2 longer than any other firearm except the .45 ACP M1911 pistol, which was also designed by John Browning.

The current M2HB (heavy barrel) is manufactured in the U.S. by General Dynamics Ohio Ordnance Works, and U.S. Ordnance for use by the U.S. government, and for allies via Foreign Military Sales, as well as by foreign manufacturers such as FN Herstal.
