  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an attractive original M1919A4 display gun setup, complete with an original USGI Tripod and cloth belt of inert practice ammo! It has been fitted with a feed tray ammo box, and the Tripod has been fitted with a replica pintle and T&E to complete it. The display gun itself was built using original WWII Type issue parts on a BATF compliant permanently non-firing display receiver, making this a 100% legal display machine gun. This receiver was created using an original left hand side plate, combined with an inert aluminum dummy right side plate. The interior is empty, without any internal components installed, as it does not have the ability to mount any. As such it is totally legal to own without a license of any kind.

It looks like an original front trunion was used, along with front and rear top covers, rear plate with handle / trigger, and bottom plate, riveted together to complete the dummy receiver. The barrel is a dummy, made from a pipe, and has been welded in place into the front of the trunion. All parts of the display gun except for the dummy aluminum right sideplate and barrel are original military issue.

The Browning M 1919A4 was the definitive U.S. MG of WWII. The M1919 Browning is a .30 caliber medium machine gun that was widely used during the 20th century. The U.S. and many other countries used it as a light infantry, coaxial, mounted, aircraft, and anti-aircraft machine gun, especially during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Although it began to be superseded by newer designs in the later half of the century (such as by the M60 machine gun), it remained in use in many North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries and elsewhere for much longer. It is very similar in design to the larger .50 in (12.7 mm) M2 Machine Gun, the "Ma Deuce", which is also a Browning-designed weapon and is still in NATO service.

IMA is proud to offer a totally non-firing display machine gun, built from a parts set into a BATF compliant non-firing dummy gun. The top cover opens (may need a rubber mallet), and many original markings remain, this is a very appealing display gun. Both the front and rear sight are fully functional, and condition overall is very good, showing some wear from service. There is also a short disintegrating link belt of inert practice ammunition in the feed tray ammo box to complete the look.

The display gun sits on a USGI Issue WWII Type M2 Tripod, which has unfortunately lost the original data plate on the front of the hub. The construction is completely consistent with WWII manufacture, and the central hub is marked U.S.-M2 (L) C59331, which is the correct maker code for LAMSON, a known manufacturer of WWII M2 tripods. There are part and contract numbers present on other parts of the tripod as well, and it extends and locks into place correctly, though some force is definitely required. It has been painted OD green at some point during its service or afterwards. The included pintle and T&E are fully functional recent production replicas.

This M1919A4 display setup combines an original military parts set with a permanently non-firing display receiver, dummy barrel, and empty interior. It is accompanied by a U.S. M2 tripod with Lamson markings, a feed-tray ammunition box, a short belt of inert practice cartridges, and functional reproduction pintle and traversing-and-elevating mechanism. The original components show expected service wear, while the tripod retains later olive-drab paint and is missing its data plate. Although the top cover is stiff and the mounting hardware is reproduction, the assembled display presents the principal external features of the wartime M1919A4 in a substantial and cohesive display configuration.
