Original Item: According to the Quartermaster QM 3-4 Catalog the Bag, Carrying, Ammunition is of strong, durable, lightweight construction, and provides maximum utility for carrying various types of grenades and ammunition.
These are nearly identical to WWII issue but were issued for use during the Korean War. All are stamped U.S. on front and marked under the top flap with contract number 74 - B - 54 - 30, various manufacturers such as Tacoma Tent and Awning Company and dated 1951.
