Item Description

Original Items: Only One Grouping Available. Now this is a fantastic grouping attributed to US Army Officer Colonel Langdon A. Jackson, Jr.. Colonel Jackson was a graduate of the prestigious United States Military Academy, West Point. Colonel Jackson graduated from West Point on June 12, 1936 with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Little was found about his military service but what we were able to uncover was rather interesting in a way. He served during WWII with either the XXI Corps or the 4th Infantry Division, information is unclear. He After the Occupation of Germany, Jackson stayed in the Army and retired on July 1, 1964 after almost 30 years of honorable service.

Some of the commands he held was Post Commander of the Schofield Barracks located in the City and County of Honolulu and in the Wahiawa District of the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. He held another Post Commander title for Fort Hamilton, a United States Army installation in the southwestern corner of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, surrounded by the communities of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights. It is one of several posts that are part of the region which is headquartered by the Military District of Washington.

Colonel Jackson's last official military assignment was being a Regular Army Advisor to the Reserves under General “Haps” Fr4ank at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. The installation is an active National Guard Training Center and serves as headquarters for the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania National Guard. The post includes about 18,000 acres (73 km2) of land, with numerous ranges and training areas for the Pennsylvania National Guard and other active-duty and reserve-component military units as well as law-enforcement agencies.

The Items In This Grouping:
- WWII Era Class A Uniform Set “Pinks and Greens” With Overseas Cover: The uniform set is in wonderful condition but does have a faint scent of body odor present. The uniform coat is patched for the 4th Infantry Division and has a 12th Infantry Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia on each shoulder strap.

- Korean War Era Khaki Summer Uniform Coat With Overseas Cover: Male officer's summer service uniforms usually consisted of a wash-and-wear cotton khaki uniforms similar to those of enlisted men, the main difference being that the shirts had shoulder straps added. This example is in wonderful condition and has the XXI Corps patch on the left shoulder and 4th ID on the right.

- Vietnam War Era Early 1960s Green Class A Uniform Set: The uniform set dated to the early 1960s, possibly into early Vietnam Era (he did not serve in Vietnam). The set is in fantastic condition and has the correct matching pants.

- Name Engraved Bronze Star Medal Set With Presentation Case and War Department Note: This is a lovely set and includes the medal, lapel device and presentation box. The reverse side of the BSM is engraved in cursive with Langdon A. Jackson Jr. The note card was found inside of the presentation case and is from Robert P. Patterson, the Secretary of War (at the time).

- U.S. Army Commendation Medal With lapel device, ribbon and presentation case: Non engraved example in good condition. The only real issue with this set is that the pin arm attachment on the reverse side of the ribbon is unfortunately broken.
