Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Purchased directly from a private collector. We haven't had a parts set like this for over two years and they have dried up on the market. Not only the best M1928A1 set we have to offer, but it is among the best on the market today (if you can even find another).

Included with this one of a kind set are:

- Original Complete Lower Frame Assembly with an unaltered serial number NO.S - 423400

- Original Finned Barrel with "Cutts" Compensator

- Original Detachable Walnut Butt Stock Assembly.

- Original Internal Components: M-1928 Bolt Assembly, Actuator, Lock, Op. Spring, Guide, Buffer and Ejector, frame latch.

This parts set is in excellent condition, with original finish intact, and little or no rust to any of the components from decades of storage. The bore of the barrel is practically new, and all wooden components are excellent as well. History of the Thompson Sub Machine Gun- The Thompson 1928 SMG is perhaps the most recognizable firearm of World War II, made famous by the Airborne Troops of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. Though heavy by today's standards, the weight helped control the .45 caliber bursts when operated on full automatic.

The Thompson submachine was invented by John T. Thompson in 1919 and became infamous during the Prohibition era. It was a common sight of the time, being used by both law enforcement officers and criminals. The Thompson was also known informally as: the "Tommy Gun," the "Trench Broom," the "Trench Sweeper," the "Chicago Piano," the "Chicago Typewriter," and the "Chopper." The Thompson was favored by soldiers, criminals and police alike for its ergonomics, compactness, large .45 ACP cartridges, and high volume of automatic fire and among civilian collectors for its historical significance.
