Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent unissued example of an early Korean War issue M2 Paratrooper pocket knife, with correct black plastic "jigged bone" handles. These are almost identical to the WWII issue, with the main differences being markings and the more durable plastic grips. These are very difficult to find, especially in this incredible unissued condition, still in the wrapper with a length of parachute cord to fasten it.
It is marked on the base of the blade with:
SCHRADE
WALDEN
NY
This unissued example is in fully functional condition and comes complete with a bail (ring) on the end for a lanyard. This would ensure it wasn't dropped when being used to cut through parachute rigging. Condition is virtually mint, with just a few tiny stains on the blade due to decades of age and storage.
Extremely rare to find in this condition, perfect for any collection!
Dimensions:
Blade length: 3 1/8”
Blade Style: Clip Point Knife
Overall length closed: 4 3/16”
Overall length open: 7 3/8"
Worn in the breast pocket of the Paratrooper M2 Jump Jacket these knives were intended for paratroopers to cut there parachute cords and anything else if they got entangled during a jump. Genuine examples, such as this, are exceedingly rare and hard to find. For further research checkout this forum post about these knives and how to tell WWII knives from post war.
