Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous example of a rare early-war "low pressure" liner, which were constructed of rubber fiber, and were the thinnest construction of all WWII Liners. This liner was manufactured by St. Clair, and features the yellow stamped SC marking on the crown.
St. Clair liners had interesting liner systems, with unique square washers, and a rayon suspension. This example is in fantastic condition, the best St. Clair liner we have ever offered. The front of the liner is affixed with Captain’s bars made from tape, with the original liner chinstrap still seated upon the brim. The left side of the liner has a Keystone insignia with a 4 inside, denoting the 4th Regiment, Pennsylvania State Guard, making this a possibly researchable liner!
The suspension is in fantastic condition, as is the sweatband and chinstrap. There are some faded markings on the suspension as shown. The majority of St. Clair liners were refitted with cloth suspension, making this an extremely scarce example.
This is a fantastic liner, perfect for any Pennsylvania collection. Comes ready for further research and display.
