This is a great lot of WWII personal rations commonly found in the kit of an American G.I. This lot has some great items that will definitely help spruce up your WWII G.I. display.
The lot includes:
- Open Emergency Parachute Ration empty but some contents remain. There are a couple of loose pieces of gum that were likely in the kit, but they are not wrapped.
- 3” Sealed tube of Malted Milk Tablets, 1 ounce. Beech-nut Packing.
- Bar of Hershey’s Tropical Chocolate with wrapper open on one side. Heavy wear.
- Cadet Brown Whittemore’s oil paste shoe polish tin.
- Tin of Foot Powder, still full.
- Emergency Ration Pemmican 2V still sealed with key on bottom. Rare piece to find so intact!
- Small can of Corned Pork Load, with carrots and apple flakes. Sealed.
The Emergency Parachute Ration container, sealed malted milk tablets, Hershey’s Tropical Chocolate, sealed pemmican, Corned Pork Loaf, foot powder, and shoe polish collectively illustrate the specialized foods, emergency provisions, and routine personal-maintenance products encountered in U.S. military service during WWII.
All surviving food and personal-care contents are approximately 80 years old and are included strictly as historical artifacts for collection and display. They should not be opened, consumed, or used.
