Original Item. Only One Available. This is a stunning example of a WWII Chelsea Ships Clock marked U.S. Coast Guard.
NOTE: We wound this clock up and allowed it to run for approximately one hour. It kept good time when it was running, and was functioning properly. However, there is no warranty for this clock and returns for a non-working watch will not be honored. Please note all clocks are wound and tested then recorded on video before shipment. We are not in the repair business- ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
These types of ship clocks were the common clock that was typically mounted on a bulkhead on a ship’s bridge, quarter deck, or in a wardroom. The case measures 7 5/8" in diameter, with a height of 2 3/4". The hands are painted white. The second hand is very tiny and not painted.
All the numerals are marked for black-out recognition by round luminous dots on the outside, which are unfortunately no longer active. The face is marked:
U.S. COAST GUARD
SER. NO. 3234
CHELSEA
The back of the case is scratched with number 463629 over:
CHELSEA CLOCK CO.
BOSTON
