  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding and rare “Utah Beach” medical backpack. These were officially known as Navy Shore Party medical backpacks, but they are much more well known as Utah Beach packs. These bags were made and issued to Medics in the 4th Infantry division during the D-day landings. These bags are large although consensus is these carried two large tins of bandages there is no documentation describing the issued contents.

The bag is not marked by the maker that we can find, but both sides of the bag have a written name, PAUL, over a stencil reading C.C. CROGAN. This may identify the bag to Carpenter's Mate 2nd Class Clement C. Crogan, who served aboard the USS Anteaus, a submarine tender and later transport vessel.

A great and scarce bag, ready for further research and display.
