  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely WWII custom-made fighting knife made by Richard “Dick” Shepard, who was a known maker of fighting knives during World War II. This example is numbered #1364 on the crossguard, and marked on the blade ANNEAL.

The brass crossguard is etched on one side with:

    RICHARD SHEPARD

And on the other side with 1364 #. The grip is lovely polished stacked leather, with an aluminum pommel. The blade measures 7 ¾” and is in fair shape with heavy cleaning and some verdigris. The overall length is 12 ¼”.

The custom leather sheath is rectangular, just like the crossguard, with nine brass rivets holding the two pieces together with heavy verdigris on all. The belt loop is in good order, just with some crazing.

A lovely fighting knife, ready for display.

    Dimensions:
    Blade Length: 7 3/4”
    Total Length: 12 1/4”
Scabbard Length: 8” + Belt Loop
