  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is the Purple Heart of Private Melvin J. Spindleman, who served with the 215th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany during World War II. Spindleman was wounded on March 24th, 1945 in Germany.

The group includes two original copies of Spindleman’s Purple Heart citation which list his serial number as 36573606. The Purple Heart is not engraved, as many wound PHs were not engraved during WWII. He was awarded the PH on April 3rd, 1945. The PH is in its original case along with two PH Ribbons, the PH pin, a Field Artillery collar disc, and Spindleman’s ribbon bar for the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 campaign stars. There’s also two loose ribbons and a second ribbon bar which is the same as the first except with no campaign stars.

This is a great example of a WWII Purple Heart with its original citation! Comes ready for further research and display!
