Original Item. Only One Available. Now this is a rare item to find an original of. We have only ever offered reproductions of this leather scabbard in the past, but this is the very first original we’ve had! This M1928 Thompson scabbard is in NOS (New Old Stock) condition, meaning it doesn’t look to have seen use during WWII or since! These were used with motorcycles such as the Harley-Davidson WLA, jeeps and many other military vehicles.
From the style of the 1870's Winchester saddle carbine scabbards, these were used in WWII to protect the weapons and to have them ready and at hand for immediate use. This example retains the lovely brown color and the small strap attached to the bale on one side. Along the top edge of the scabbard is stamped:
U.S.
S. FROEHLICH CO., N.Y.C.
1944
This company produced a variety of material for the Army between 1942 and 1944 including jungle packs, magazine pouches, and other field gear.
The scabbard measures 26 x 9 ½ x 3” including the bale and strap. This is a fantastic accessory for your Thompson submachine gun, the first and likely the last original example we will offer for a long while, so don’t miss out.
