Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely service-used USMC WWII Sun Helmet utilized by an officer of the Navy, with a Navy Officer’s cap badge replacing the EGA. The interior is named in several places to Lieutenant A.T. Rundle, who we found in our research to be Alfred T. Rundle. Before the war, he was coach and director of physical education at Burlington, New Jersey High School. During the war he was Athletic Officer of the Naval Cadet Training Program at Schreiner Institute Campus in Texas. The original chinstrap is intact and seated upon the brim. The interior sweatband is still intact, and the interior is stamped 1609, along with the maker’s stamp for the “Hawley Tropper”. Named in several places to Rundle.A great example, ready for further research and display.
