Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is an original Commander's visor cap in naval blue. It was made by Rogers Peet who was known for the very high quality hats. It features wicker frame construction with wool topped leather visor with gold bullion oak leaf embroidery and a silver American eagle cap badge with a gold chinstrap.
The crown bears the Rogers Peet label and it is named in three locations. Original paper insert name tag that reads:
Comdr. Allen S. Johnson
(M.C.) U.S.N.R.
And it is also ink stamped ALLEN S. JOHNSON in two locations on the inside of the hat.
The leather sweatband is in very good supple condition. The cap is in excellent condition with no staining, no damage nor holes anywhere.
