Original U.S. WWII Naval Command Officer White Combination Visor Cap by Waldemar C. Pinto & Co. Ltd.
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a WWII U.S. Navy Command Officer "Complete" Cap, also called the "Combination" cap. Naval officers wore a variety of different colored uniforms in service, for different locations and occasions, so a cap was designed that could utilize various removable covers to match the uniform. The standard colors were White, Khaki, Navy Blue, and Gray. The U.S. Coast Guard also wore the same caps, however they use a different cap badge with a larger eagle and a single anchor instead of two.
This is a totally correct high quality imported genuine World War II U.S. Navy Command officer complete visor hat. It features a wonderful heavy high quality embroidered eagle cap badge, with the correct felt top visor bearing gold bullion Oak Leaf "Scrambled Egg" appointments. These indicate that the wearer was a "Command" officer, with the rank of Commander or Captain in the U.S. Navy. It has the correct gold bullion chin strap, secured by the correct naval buttons. The cap currently has a white cover installed, though over the years it has faded and turned almost khaki in color.
There are no markings on the crown of the cap, but the sweatband has the full manufacturer information:
Waldemar C. Pinto & C. Ltd,
RUA 1º DEMARÇO 137 - RIO
The sweatband is supple leather, with no real damage or cracking. The cap is in good condition, with only standard age related degradation. The felt on the top of the visor looks to possibly be worn, or maybe has a bit of light mothing.
