Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very nice WAC Uniform grouping belonging to Private Mamie D. Grisham, who served with the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. The grouping includes her uniform jacket, skirt, and overseas cap.
Grisham’s jacket is tan with gilt Federal Eagle buttons and US & WAC Collar discs. The jacket is stamped under the collar:

The jacket is in great shape without any serious wear. The included skirt is in similar condition but is not named that we can find. The skirt is marked with a size, 40.
The overseas cap has yellow and green piping, correct for the WAC / WAAC. The interior shows that it was tailored by Knox of New York, rare to see.
Mamie Dymple Grisham was born on March 13th, 1907 in Tennessee. She would marry Wiley Wilson Mullinax in 1948, changing her name to Mamie Dymple Mullinax. She enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps on May 12th, 1944. She was stationed in the United States, and was present in Florida at one point as we found her as a helper in a Christmas Party at the Welch Convalescent Hospital. She likely was discharged as the end of the war, and would eventually settle in Columbia, Tennessee, where she would pass away on February 6th, 2001 at the age of 93.
