Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely service-worn WW2 USMC US Marine Corps P44 USMC Combat Field Utility Jacket in Olive Drab. This loose fitting sage green herringbone twill (HBT) cotton jacket features original blacked brass "doughnut hole" USMC buttons which still show most of the original black, breast pocket and stenciled black USMC EGA insignia.
This jacket is faintly stenciled on the rear with:
L.J. ROBINSON
We believe this to identify the shirt to Staff Sergeant Leo J. Robinson, who served with Marine Wing Service Squadron Four, Ss-21, Marine Aircraft Group-21, and several other marine aviation units during the war. We couldn’t find any other L.J. Robinsons in the marine corps during the war.
There is no tag we could find. The jacket has some staining and wear overall, with much staining on the cuffs. This example certainly saw real service overseas.
Comes ready for further research and display.
