Original U.S. WWII Named Purple Heart Medal with WWI Victory Medal and Three Campaign Bars

Item Description

Original Item: This engraved WWII Purple Heart Medal is engraved on the reverse to GROVER E. McKEE. Included with the medal from the collection we purchased is a WWI Victory medal with three campaign bars: St. NMihel, Meuse-Argonne, Defense Sector. Research revealed that Grover E. McKee (ASN 1463005) was assigned to Company A, 125th Field Artillery Regiment during World War One and later fought in WWII. However, this even though we found this research we cannot fully verify that this is the same McKee to which this medal is named. Included with the medals is a passenger list from the USS Madawaska, from the 18th of December 1918 which names Corporal Grover E. McKee as a passenger on his way home from France.
