Original U.S. WWII Named Navy Chaplain Officer Grey Uniform Set - Coat, Trousers, Visor Cap & Overseas Caps
Original Items: Only One Set Available.WWII U.S. Navy Officer’s Grey Uniform for a Navy Chaplain. Set comes with a service coat, trousers, visor cap, and two overseas caps. All items are well worn, with signs of multiple washes and starch on the coat and trousers. There are no markings inside the coat, with only a laundry tag tacked to the hanging loop. Chaplain Officer’s Shoulder Boards are in matching grey, and are of the button-on variety.
The trousers also only exhibit laundry tag numbers, but there is a name “T.J. O’Connell” stamped into the waistband.
Overseas Caps are roughly a size 7. One comes fitted with a period US Navy Officer’s cap device.
Visor Cap was made by Pancraft, with the name of the retailer “Joseph Panitz & Co./ 426 So.Spring St./Los Angeles” stamped within the crown lining. The cap has a matching grey cover installed. The sweatband is loose in the front of the cap, and there is some signs of obvious wear within the lining of the cap.
This is a very handsome, and scarce, uniform set up for a WWII Navy Chaplain, and the first one we have ever had available.
