Original U.S. WWII Named Air Women’s Army Corps Air WAC Trunk Uniform Grouping - Marjorie Cumiskey

Item Description

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous trunk grouping to Marjorie Cumiskey Mills, a Corporal in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. The group includes her uniforms as well as a Riker case full of her insignia. Women’s Army Corps groups don’t come up often, making this a rare named set!

The grouping includes the following:

-Cumiskey’s U.S. Army uniform jacket, with Corporal ranks on each sleeve, an Army Air Forces patch on the left shoulder, and a USAAF Engineering Specialist Cuff Patch.
-Cumiskey’s U.S. Army shirt, with all the same insignia on the jacket, Size 32.
-Her Winter WAAC skirt, size 14.
-Her Army issue tie.
-Her travel suitcase, with a Tennessee sticker on the side. The interior pockets have disconnected from the back of the interior. The suitcase is in very rough shape overall.
-Riker case with small 48-star American flag, a pair of corporal chevrons, her US WWII Victory Medal, her Army Good Conduct medal and extra ribbon and pin, her Army Dog Tags with her name and serial number, her Collar insignia, US and WAC, her Ruptured Duck discharge patch and pin, a button from her uniform, and her ribbons, with the US Victory ribbon, American Campaign ribbon, and WAC service ribbon. There is also a very small copy of her Army Honorable Discharge listing her name and unit, SEC D 3035 AAF BN.

Marjorie Cumiskey was born in Warren, Ohio on November 1st, 1922. Cumiskey enlisted in the WAC in Columbus, Ohio on January 25th, 1944, at the age of 21, service number A-504076. Pre-war, she had skills as a semi-skilled welder/flame cutter. She was assigned to Section D of the 3035th Army Air Forces Battalion, and was discharged on December 2nd, 1945, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. She married her husband, Raymond A. Mills, who had served in the Navy during World War II, in 1946. Marjorie passed away on July 9th, 2016, at the age of 93, in Youngstown, Ohio.

This is a phenomenal named WAC grouping, with some research done. The group is more than ready for further research and display.
