Item Description
Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is the gorgeous uniform & garrison cap grouping of Corporal Arthur R. Robinson Jr., who served as a Corporal & paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, likely the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, but we couldn’t find any service record for Robinson. The uniform has a lovely assortment of bullion insignia including the 11th Airborne patch, Combat Infantryman Badge, Paratrooper Wings, and the Paratrooper patch on his garrison cap.
The jacket has a gorgeous bullion 11th Airborne patch cross-stitched to the left shoulder, with three overseas stripes on the left cuff. There are Corporal stripes on each sleeve, and US & Infantry collar discs. On the left breast pocket is stitched a beautiful bullion Combat Infantryman Badge, and above the pocket is a hand-stitched 6-place ribbon bar with the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Campaign medal with four campaign stars and an invasion arrowhead, the WWII Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal with a star. Above this bar is a gorgeous set of bullion Paratrooper wings.
The interior of the jacket bears a size tag, 36R under the collar. The laundry number R-9767 is stamped, and the name ARTHUR R. ROBINSON JR. is written on the lining.
His garrison cap has blue piping for infantry, and a gorgeous cross-stitched bullion paratrooper badge, one of the nicest we’ve seen. The interior is stamped with the same laundry number R-9767 and name, ROBINSON. It is marked Size 7¼.
We were unable to find an Arthur R. Robinson Jr. whose serial number matched the laundry number in the jacket & cap, so there is still research to be done on this tremendous group, although it is worth acquiring for the lovely bullion work alone.
A stellar high-end Airborne uniform with a great ID, ready for further research and display.
