Item Description

Original Items: Only One pair Available. Known as the Model 1939 American Service Shoe these low quarter boots were also called walking out boots by USGIs. These were standard issue to US troops serving in the Army and Air Force at the start of the WW2, eventually replaced by the rough-out boot. This pair in excellent wearable condition boot is made from russet brown leather with leather toe cap and a two piece stitched-in rubber sole. Worn in combat with the M1938 leggings, these boots were also popular off-duty.

Laces in good condition, shows normal wear on the soles but still plenty there if you want to wear them. Overall condition very good.

These boots were the brought back by Frank L. Bender, who was a member of the 10th Army, 3rd Battalion Engineers, D Company.
