Original U.S. WWII Medic M1 Helmet Liner by Westinghouse with Sweatband and Chinstrap

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a genuine WWII "High Pressure" helmet liner by Westinghouse, which has Geneva Convention Red Cross markings applied for use by medical personnel. The Three-Panel Red Crosses are applied decals, not hand painted, which indicates that this was quite possibly done either very late in WWII at the earliest.

The liner shows signs of heavy usage with some of the surface chipping on the medics panels, there are stress cracks on the left and right side of the liner with very minor fraying on the rim. The sweatband is complete with staining and cracking in the leather. The nape strap is intact and in place as well. The frequently missing liner chinstrap is intact and unbroken.

On any World War II battlefield, you could find thousands of men trained and ready to do one thing, fight. For roughly every 500 fighting men, there would be 30 or less trained and ready to do an entirely different mission: save lives. These were the battlefield medics.

WW2 Medic helmets are among the most sought after of all M1 helmets and have become increasingly difficult to find in recent years. Value increases yearly, don’t miss your chance on this one!
