Original U.S. WWII Named Marine Corps OD Green Wool Visor Cap - USMC

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII Issue U.S. Marine Corps Visor cap, very similar in design to the U.S. Navy "Complete" or "Combination" cap. It utilizes a wicker frame base with with a dark navy blue wool covering, which is what the visor/peak and chin strap are attached to. Then the OD green wool cover is placed over this, and secured in place with the chin strap. This way, the Marine would not need to buy a different cap to use with his dress blue uniform.

The cap is in very good shape, with just a few month nips, and has a lovely black leather visor to the front, with no cracking. The black leather adjustable chinstrap is secured to the cap with two bronze USMC EGA side buttons. The crown of the cap of course has a large U.S. Marine Corps EGA bronze screw back pin, which retains the original blacked finish quite well. The interior has a black sweat shield on the top, and on the side above the sweatband the cap is named to A. L. FINK. There are some additional markings on the front support, but they are unclear. The sweatband itself is in good shape, though a lot of the stitching on the edge has rotted out, but could be repaired. The size seems to be around a 7-7 1/8.

A very nice WWII USMC Cap, ready to display!
