Original U.S. WWII M4 Bayonet in by Camillus for M1 Carbine with M8A1 Scabbard
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine WWII U.S. Army M4 Carbine bayonet fighting knife with original M8 scabbard. It is nicely marked U.S. M4 / CAMILLUS on the blade side of the cross guard. The bayonet is in very good condition, with a great finish, and no rust that we can see. The bayonet has been sharpened and polished a bit, which has removed some of the finish.
The Grip and pommel are all tight to the blade, and the cross guard is solid. There are almost no signs of use on the grip, which is fully leather, without plastic spacers. Leather washer grip is in excellent condition, with no cracks, scratches, etc. Locking mechanism is fully functional and moves easily. A truly nice example of an M4 bayonet.
Comes complete with an OD green fiber scabbard marked U.S. M8A1 / B.M. Co, offered in good condition. This design features a a fiberglass body, metal throat, and canvas frog and securing strap. It was manufactured by Beckwith Mfg Co. a division of Victory Plastics, whose stylized V P logo is on the back of the scabbard body. The canvas is in good shape, as are the metal fittings and snap. Scabbard body is complete, and does not have a metal tip, indicating that it was manufactured during the changeover to the M8A1 spec. Also still retains an original coiled leather leg tie down.
The perfect accessory for any WW2 issue M1 Carbine. Ready to display!
