This is a lovely M1942 Paratrooper Jump Jacket which comes with an original gas detection brassard attached, along with a mix of original and reproduction items to make for a fantastic mannequin display. The M1 D-Bale helmet, Suspender pads, and Paratrooper medical bandage packet are reproduction.
This great lot includes:
- Original WWII M1942 Paratrooper Jump Jacket without Reinforcements with period Paratrooper Gas Detection Brassard attached. There are no markings or tags in the jacket we could find, which would indicate actual field use. Zipper is a replacement but is Crown marked which is fully functional and might be a period replacement, yet the stitching is excellent and the wear is consistent with the rest of the jacket, so if it is a replacement it is not a modern one.
- Original U.S. WWII Belt Rig with M-1923 Cartridge belt by Hinson Mfg. Co. dated January 1942, M-1910 Entrenching tool with 1943 Dated cover by KADIN, M1910 Canteen with 1942-dated cover, and a first aid packet marked Independent Awnings dated 1943 with a Carlisle bandage inside. The rig also has suspenders with padding, but the padding is reproduction. We believe the suspenders themselves to be original.
- US Army Shirt, size marked 15½ / 33.
- Loose helmet net, likely period.
- Original U.S. WWII D-Day Invasion E7 Assault Carrier For M5 Gas Mask
- Original U.S. WWII General Purpose bag by BBS Co. Dated 1944.
- Reproduction M1 D-Bale Paratrooper helmet & liner. Liner might be an original shell but all suspension and straps are reproduction.
