Original U.S. WWII M1916 .45 Colt 1911 Black Leather Holster by Sears - dated 1942

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice totally original M1916 holster, made by Sears Saddlery Co. of Davenport, Iowa, offered in very good condition. It is marked SEARS / 1942 on the back, and embossed U S in an oval on the flap, indicating that this was a military issue holster.
The leather body of the holster is now black, and looks to have been stained/dyed during service, though it could be original, as it is very well done. The leather is still supple, and shows the usual wrinkles seen on a well broken in holster. All stitches still intact, all brass parts still present with a bit of verdigris, and a steel WWII style belt clip. The leg tie down is unfortunately missing, but could easily be replaced. Just perfect for a high grade WWII issue 1911 .45 pistol!
