Original Item. Only One Available. This is a phenomenal mint conditioned holster for the Colt M1911 Pistol, manufactured in 1944 by the Boyt Harness Company.

This holster is nearly mint, with normal signs of age and wear, and verdigris on the bolts that attach the hanger to the holster. The US is embossed on the front and is in great shape. This example has the original leather lanyard, which has some small amount of verdigris. It is marked on the back of the hanger, BOYT 44, for a manufacture date of 1944.

All stitches still intact, all brass parts still present with a bit of verdigris, and a steel WWII style belt clip, along with the original leather lanyard still wrapped up like a Christmas Gift. Just perfect for a high grade WWII issue 1911 .45 pistol!

The Boyt Harney Company was founded in 1901 as Walter Boyt Saddlery by brothers Walter & John Boyt. During WWI the company built the first of many firearm accessories, including a military pistol holster for the then-new Colt 1911 .45 pistol, along with cavalry saddle bags and harnesses for artillery and transport horses. After the war ended, Walter Boyt sold the company to his brother John and John’s three sons, Joseph Walter, Arthur John and Paul Alfred Boyt. They changed the name to “The Boyt Harness Company” and the next generation of Boyt brothers continued the tradition of making durable harnesses, saddles, bridles and tack for farmers and stockmen around the Midwest.

And then war rocked the country again
