Original U.S. WWII M1 Paratrooper Liner by INLAND with Repaint and Serial Number on Interior

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original WWII issue M1 helmet "high pressure" liner, stamped with the INLAND Company logo, one of the rarest makers of WWII M1 liners. Each of the 75,000 Inland produced airborne liners began their lives as infantry models and were later converted by the McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. prior to being issued. This example has been repainted on the exterior, but retains its parts as well as a serial number written on the interior shell.This correct "high pressure" style M-1 Helmet liner was manufactured in Dayton, Ohio by the Inland Manufacturing Division, as indicated by the embossed INLAND logo inside the crown. It is also marked with mold number 38. This company started M-1 helmet liner delivery to the US Army in September 1942. They produced approximately 1,900,000 M-1 helmet liners and converted about 75,000 liners to airborne configuration. Inland Manufacturing discontinued M-1 helmet liner production in 1943 when their manufacturing services were deemed better used elsewhere.The liner is in fair condition but is missing the sweatband completely. Both paratrooper side straps are intact, and the buckles are in fair working order. The serial number 22999780 is written in gold along the interior brim alongside the name JOHN D. We are unsure if these are period markings, but we could not find anyone matching that serial number. A good opportunity for research.Paratrooper liners are the hardest to find of all WWII M1 helmet liners, and this one is an INLAND example with a serial number. Don’t miss out!
