  • Original Refurbished Item: Only One Available. This is an original front seam swivel-bale M1 helmet with an IMP-manufactured liner that has been converted into an Airborne paratrooper helmet. The liner has added suspension and sweatband with reproduction airborne chinstraps and leather chin-cup. The shell appears repainted with added net and scrim for display.

The helmet shell is a World War Two produced M1 Helmet shell bearing a heat lot code 983F. The helmet chinstrap is a high quality reproduction and the liner chinstrap is absent. The helmet has been fixed with a reproduction helmet net and scrim which give the helmet a great look.

The liner is correct high pressure WWII issue and stamped with the International Molded Plastics logo with frontal eyelet. Manufactured in Watertown, Massachusetts this “high pressure” manufactured M-1 helmet liner is identified by an embossed “little man” in a circle in the crown. International Molded Plastics, Inc (IMP) started M-1 helmet liner delivery to the US Army in September 1942. They produced approximately between 2,000,000 – 4,000,000 M-1 helmet liners and discontinued production around August 17, 1945 when the war ended.

The liner is missing the chinstrap, and the suspension and sweatband are reproduction with reproduction airborne chinstraps and leather chin-cup. The snaps for the helmet chinstraps are reproduction and were added to the IMP liner.

A great refurbished helmet for display!
