Original Item: Only One Available. This is an interesting pair of original U.S. grenade projection adapters originally manufactured during World War II and later modified to M1A2 configuration during the Vietnam War era, now fitted with reproduction inert hand grenades for display. One adapter retains particularly clear yellow-painted markings documenting both its original 1945 manufacture and its subsequent March 1969 modification. Not Available for Export.
One of the two adapters is marked on the side in yellow paint stampings:

This denotes it as a 1945-manufactured M1 grenade projection adapter that was refurbished and modified to M1A2 configuration in March 1969. The other adapter is far too worn to properly read the markings, but it likely also dates around the same period. Attached to the first adapter is a reproduction Mk. II grenade with an original M228 practice fuze. There is even the small wooden piece in the adapter spot.
The second adapter’s grenade appears to be an entire reproduction though the fuze might be original, but it is unmarked.
The combination of the original WWII manufacture date, documented March 1969 M1A2 modification, surviving UOD-500-12 lot marking, second heavily worn M1A2-type adapter, and associated reproduction grenade bodies makes this an especially interesting display pair illustrating the unusually long service life of U.S. rifle-grenade equipment from World War II into the Vietnam era.
