Original U.S. WWII M.S.A. Skullgard Type K Helmet - Cold War Navy Safety Officer USN Bell Grouping

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a Pre-Wold War Two produced Skullgard Type K helmet manufactured by the Mine Safety Appliances Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Skullgard brand helmet was developed by The Mine Safety Appliances Company in the 1930s. The hat is made of pressed fiber with a leather sweatband and basic web suspension liner. It was intended for mining and work site safety. This example was painted in two tone gold/blue for a United States Navy Safety Officer, we believe the time period was during the early stages of the cold war in the 1950s or early 1960s. The front of the helmet bears a fouled anchor and SAFETY OFFICER USN DD on both sides. Overall condition is excellent and the paint is period authentic. Size is approximately a US 7 (56cm).
Also included is a functional USN marked brass bell on mount. The bell measures 10" in diameter. Additionally there is a post war web USN belt with the USS COONTZ DDG-40 buckle.
