  • Original Item: One-of-a-kind Set. This United State Navy Air Corps Aviator G-1 Intermediate Flight jacket by J. Dubow in size 40 s named to Lieutenant Thomas Lucas. It features a fantastic hand made squadron patch which features an early version of Donald Duck riding a torpedo. This art was designed during World War II but the jacket itself dates to the late 1940s or early 1950s. More can be learned about NAS Fort Lauderdale at their museum website at this link.

Sailor Donald Duck (Donald Fauntleroy Duck) graced the Nose Artwork of virtually every type of WWII Allied combat aircraft. The particular design shown here is a WWII US Navy insignia. It has a Walt Disney cartoon duck with flying helmet and goggles riding a torpedo and was used by NAS Fort Lauderdale.

Interior of jacket and original data label are in excellent condition. Knit cuffs and waist and are in good condition with areas of pulling. Mouton collar is very nice- fluffy, and almost no fading or balding. Nice even wear to the hide. Original Conmar works as it should; all buttons are original, in place, and tightly sewn.

Also include is a sterling silver identification bracelet which reads U.S. NAVY AIR CORPS with a set of miniature pilot wings on the face and THOMAS LUCAS engraved on the inside.
