Original Item: Only One Available. Purchased directly from the veteran's family this is a WWII M1 helmet high pressure helmet liner. it is stamped with the Capac Manufacturing Company logo with frontal eyelet. Manufactured in Capac, Michigan this high pressure manufactured M-1 helmet liner is identified by an embossed cross with the words Capac in the crown. Capac Manufacturing Company started M-1 helmet liner delivery to the US Army in September 1942. They produced approximately between 2,000,000 – 4,000,000 M-1 helmet liners and discontinued production around August 17 1945 when the war ended.

The outside of the liner is painted orange/yellow and features the name SOUCY below Staff Sergeant (E-6) chevrons. According to the vet's son he was a drill sergeant during the Korean War. The helmet liner also features the 6th Armored Division insignia on one side and on the other the 52nd Armored Engineer Battalion.

The Battalion was reorganized and redesignated on 8 November 1951 as the 52nd Armored Engineer Battalion and activated on 27 November 1951 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The Battalion was inactivated on 16 March 1956 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

The 6th Armored Division "Super Sixth" was an armored division of the United States Army during World War II and in Korea.
