Original Item: This is a very rare pre-1944 KA-Bar USN (U.S. Navy) marked fighting knife with USMC style leather scabbard. The markings on the blade (not the hand guard) are as follows:

In 1944, the US Navy put through a change order to have the markings moved from the blade to the cross guard, so this knife was produced before that change. Knife features original leather washer grip, about 60% of the original blade bluing, and heavy steel pommel with peened over tang. The blade does have some areas of light corrosion, and has also been sharpened.The scabbard is in good condition with great leather color, though the securing snap is broken (all pieces included).
A great example of an exceptionally hard to find USN KA-BAR knife, with wear from use and patina of age.
