Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very good original U.S. WWII blue-painted MkII practice grenade fitted with an M10A3 fuze and accompanied by a 1945-dated M1 rifle grenade adapter. The grouping preserves the familiar segmented “pineapple” grenade body together with the projection adapter used to launch compatible hand grenades from a rifle-mounted grenade launcher.
This example is completely inert and demilitarized in accordance with current requirements governing inert ordnance. The grenade body is hollow, the fuze is inert, and the assembly cannot be converted into an explosive device. Not Available for Export.
This very nice WWII practice grenade comes complete with a great 1945-dated Rifle Grenade Adapter, marked on the side in yellow paint stampings:
ADAPTER, GRENADE
PROJECTION M1
LOT LM-21
1945
The grenade has an M10A3 fuse which is very worn, marked:
FUZE M10A3
LOT
PMC-1-362
The M1 grenade projection adapter was designed to allow certain hand grenades to be launched from a rifle grenade launcher rather than thrown by hand. The grenade was secured within the adapter, which provided the structure needed to engage the rifle grenade launching system. The 1945 date places this adapter firmly within the closing year of WWII.
The combination of an original blue MkII practice grenade, M10A3 fuze, and clearly marked 1945 M1 projection adapter makes this a particularly appealing training and ordnance display. The retained paint and readable adapter markings are especially important, while the wear to the fuze remains an honest condition feature.
