This crate was made by the HERSHEY CHOCOLATE CORPORATION. in December 1944, under Purchase Order Number 3548. The corner markings are applied to containers for overseas shipment. Green corners denoted "Quartermaster Corps Class III Items". Green corners with a black stripe (like this example)denoted "Quartermaster Sales". Wood crate measures 16" x 8.5" x 11.5".
