  • Original Item: This is a very rare and seldom seen US WWII issued half-flap holster for the Smith & Wesson Victory model .38 caliber revolvers. This holster was only made by CRAIGHEAD of Denver, CO during 1943 and they are very rare due to their limited production. After the war, the holster was produced in larger numbers by Rock Island Arsenal and it was widely carried through Vietnam. WWII made examples are scarce and highly sought after by collectors. Many were also altered post war, while this is in the original configuration.

The leather is in a beautiful aged russet brown color, with some wear and damage to the leather on the edges. The lift-the-dot snap still works, and one of the rivets on the back has popped off. Otherwise this is an excellent period of example of a highly desirable holster. The snaps and rivets show a good amount of verdigris, likely from years of storage. The US embossed on the front is in great shape and the stitching is all in fair condition. The snaps are marked UNITED CARR. BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.

A phenomenal example of a rare holster, ready to pair with your .38 Victory Revolver. Ready for further research and display.
