Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. William Henry Mauldin was an American editorial cartoonist who won two Pulitzer Prizes for his work. He was most famous for his World War II cartoons depicting American soldiers, as represented by the archetypal characters Willie and Joe, two weary and bedraggled infantry troopers who stoically endure the difficulties and dangers of duty in the field.
This is a great framed signature of Mauldin, signed on a shot from the magazine. The frame measures 9 ¼ x 20 ¼” shows a photo of Bill and another cartoon of his. There is also a Certificate of Authenticity on the back. The frame has no hanging wire, instead having velcro pieces on the top and bottom, so command strips are needed to hang it.
