Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. This is an extremely scarce Post-WWII Occupation poster which was printed in five languages that deterred pilferers & thieves who sought to steal or steal from a U.S. Army vehicle, threatening being shot without warning. The poster is printed in English, German, French, Russian, and Polish.

The poster has an American flag printed at the top, and the text below reads:

UNITED STATES ARMY SUPPLIES!
PERSONS ATTEMPTING TO PILFER THIS CAR,
WILL BE SHOT WITHOUT WARNING.

This text is repeated four more times in German, French, Russian, and Polish. The bottom of the poster reads:

UNITED STATES FORCES, EUROPEAN THEATER
THEATER PROVOST MARSHAL, RAILWAY SECURITY DIVISION

The bottom text dates this poster to July 1946, during America’s Occupation of Germany. The poster is in a modern frame measuring 16 x 20”, while the poster itself measures roughly 11¾ x 16¼”. The poster has been crumpled a bit and shows sme damage but is completely readable and will display very well.
