Original U.S. WWII Framed Navy League Announcement Home Poster - 13⅛ x 19½”

Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely framed poster which was issued to families of men who signed up for the Navy League. The Navy League of the United States, commonly referred to as the Navy League, is a national association with nearly 50,000 members who advocate for a strong, credible United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Coast Guard and U.S. Merchant Marine.

It was founded in 1902, at the suggestion of Theodore Roosevelt. The Navy League describes itself as "a civilian organization dedicated to the education of our citizens, including our elected officials, and the support of the men and women of the sea services and their families."

The poster depicts a US Navy League flag with the caption The Navy League has the honor of announcing that this house has furnished a man for the nation’s defense. This would indicate that a man living in the house has signed up for the League. A very nice period poster, perfect for any WWII collection.

Comes ready for further research and display.
