This is an excellent five-piece grouping of original U.S. WWII field equipment, highlighted by an unusually complete M1938 canvas dispatch map case retaining a substantial assortment of period contents. Also included are a 1943 Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot first-aid pouch with sealed Carlisle packet, a 1944 M1 Carbine magazine pouch, a mixed-date M1910 pick mattock set, and a heavily service-worn USALITE TL-122-C flashlight.

The centerpiece of the group is an outstanding Case, Canvas, Dispatch, M-1938, manufactured by American Leather Products Corp. and dated 1942. The M1938 was the standard U.S. Army canvas map and dispatch case of the period, with internal provisions for maps, pencils, rulers, message forms, and other field-navigation material.

This lot of field gear includes:

- Outstanding M1938 Canvas Map case complete with contents including two original high quality Shaffner’s pencils, a pocket flashlight (not working), a Corps of Engineers Architectural ruler, a map of Malmedy, a package of V-Mail envelopes, a Signal Corps Message Book M-210, a Pocket Signal Disk, and another map of Gouville Sur Mer in the original grid insert piece. The back of the map case is marked for American Leather Products Corp, dated 1942. The map case is excellent.
- WWII First Aid Pouch by JQMD Dated 1943 with sealed Carlisle Bandage inside. Excellent.
- M1 Carbine magazine pouch by Foley MFG. Company Dated 1944. Excellent with some minor verdigris.
- WWII M1910 Pick Mattock Axe & Cover, cover is by H&P Dated 1917 but the handle is mint and WWII era.
- TL-122-C Flashlight by USALITE, bulb intact but no battery, heavily worn.

This lot is particularly noteworthy for the combination of its 1942 American Leather Products Corp. M1938 map case with extensive period contents, 1943 J.Q.M.D. first-aid pouch with sealed Carlisle packet, 1944 M1 Carbine magazine pouch, M1910 pick mattock set, and USALITE TL-122-C flashlight. The complete map case contents provide the strongest historical interest, offering an unusually detailed view of the navigation, communications, and administrative equipment carried by U.S. personnel in the field during WWII.
