Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is an excellent seven-piece grouping of original U.S. Army field equipment spanning the First and Second World Wars. The lot combines a 1918 Rock Island Arsenal M1910 haversack and mess-kit pouch with a strong assortment of WWII-dated field gear, including a U.S.-marked flashlight, M1 Carbine and M1911 magazine pouches, a pick mattock set, an M1936 pistol belt, and a first-aid pouch retaining an orange-sealed Carlisle dressing.
This lot of field gear includes:
- M1910 Haversack dated 1918 by Rock Island Arsenal with mint mess kit pouch. Unissued.
- Stewart R. Brown Mfg. Co. Bakelite flashlight, marked US, bulb present but no battery.
- M1 Carbine magazine pouch marked J.Q.M.D. 1942.
- WWII M1911 Magazine pouch, AVERY 1943.
- WWII M1910 Pick Mattock Axe & Cover, cover is dated 1943 but the handle is mint and marked US / SHELDON 1944.
- M1936 Pistol belt by S.P. Co Inc. 1943. Excellent.
- WWII First Aid Pouch by J.S.&S. Co. dated 1942 with Orange sealed Carlisle bandage.
This grouping is particularly useful for illustrating the continuity of American field equipment between the two World Wars. The 1918 M1910 haversack represents a WWI-manufactured pattern that remained relevant into WWII, while the 1942-1944 dated pouches, belt, flashlight, first-aid dressing, and pick mattock components show the mixture of older and newer equipment actually encountered during the wartime period.
