Original U.S. WWII Era Ship’s Crew Made Brass Rail Mounted Binoculars Case “For The Captain’s Use Only”

Original Item: One-Of-A-Kind. Now this is a fantastic piece of US Naval history! This appears to have been made on board a US Navy vessel from scrap brass. These would have been mounted on a rail, more than likely outside of the Bridge.
The case is in great condition with minor oxidation present. It is in solid, working condition. The interior has green felt, which is mostly intact but there are areas where the adhesive has degraded and the pieces are coming detached. The front of the case has a 5-pointed star and the top has a brass label which reads as:
