  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce original U.S. WWII-era Mk. II White Phosphorus smoke grenade, completely inert and fitted with an original M200A1 fuze assembly. Particularly desirable is the substantial surviving original gray to blue-gray finish, the prescribed identification color associated with this type of chemical-filled smoke grenade. The body additionally retains a U.S. Ordnance flaming-bomb marking at the base.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

This is a rare example retaining the original gray paint. The bottom of the grenade body is stamped with a flaming bomb Ordnance Department acceptance marking. The grenade measures 5 ¼” long.

The M200A1 fuze is in good shape with an interesting lower mount. It is stamped on the top of the spoon:

    FUZE M200A1
    K (B) LOT
    5192-5

The fuze does not screw in all the way with some of the threading still visible. The threading of the fuze may have been replaced.

The combination of the original gray-blue Mk. II body, U.S. Ordnance flaming-bomb marking, M200A1 fuze marked FUZE M200A1 / K (B) LOT / 5192-5, and unusually well-preserved early finish makes this a particularly interesting example of American WWII smoke ordnance. The incompletely seated fuze and possibly altered threading are the principal condition considerations, while the surviving original paint provides especially strong identification and collector interest.
