Item Description
Original Item: One-Of-A-Kind. Adolf H, Tojo and Mussolini were the war’s three most recognized villains. Thousands of ashtrays, dart boards, badges, toys, coloring books, posters, comics and many other homemade items such as this one. Homefront collectibles are starting to become popular again and are surprisingly difficult to find at times.
The information on this particular carnival game is rather scant but the basic fundamentals of it is clear. It is a target knockdown game of sorts constructed out of heavy cast iron with mounting holes on the bottom. We found a similar example but of Adolf H mounted on a wooden base with a baseball. Whether this was a ball game or part of a carnival shooting gallery we are uncertain. There are slight pockmarks and a piece of the helmet missing as well as paint loss but is otherwise in good condition. The helmet appears to have been repainted black with the original color being a dark green. There is what appears to have been a red swas on the front, so that explains the repainting of the helmet, trying to “sanitize” the game.
A lovely item that comes ready for further research and display.
