Original U.S. WWII Era Flashing Red and Blue Vehicle or Airfield Stop Light
Original Item: Only One Available. We acquired this with a large Army Air Force collection and were told this was a runway airfield light. However, after further research we think it was more likely a flashing emergency vehicle stop light, perhaps for a military Ambulance, medical jeep, or firetruck. The light has a diameter 9". One side features a red glass lens with STOP etched to the interior, the other side has a plain blue glass lens. The red lens is marked "Keystone Type SH". Inside the light are two Tung-Sol flasher units, indicating that this light was designed to flash. There is a steel frame mount to the bottom of the instrument. Based on the wiring and internals this light appears to be from the World War Two era or perhaps just after the was until the 1950s and Korea. Light is offered in very good condition, but we do not know if it still functions. Undoubtedly can be made to work either as is or with replacement parts and a skilled electrician.
